8/22/10 - Vicarious broke well, took back, came 3 wide at the turn and then was guided to the rail. She finished well and only lost by 2 1/4 lengths. She has pushed well over $112,000. SEE CHART

Stretch run on the 22nd.

8/16/10 - 1 1/16 on the turf in which she might has well has stayed in the barn. She checked in last after cantering around the course. At the end, Julien could not pull up and an outrider was dispatched.

7/25/10 - She was third after being caught inside in traffic at the start of the race. Julien rode her well getting her clear and holding on for third. She has paid for herself for a month and has now earned $109,757. She had quite a large fan club in the paddock! We need to be proud to get on the board at Saratoga and we have lots of time for more starts during the meet. Barry took photos so I am sure I will be able to post some soon. SEE CHART

6/9/10 - 1 Mile 1X Allowance Race at Belmont, post position 6 with Channing Hill up. This race had slow early fractions and Channing regrettably got into a fight with Vicarious trying to rate her. She had a better clock in her head than he did. She has to be allowed to do her thing and not get too far back going this distance or shorter. She DOES NOT TIRE and needs to roll along as she wants. She closed well to be third and earn us another check. SEE CHART. As long as we can keep this condition, the better for our pocketbook.

5/20/2010 - 1 Mile 1X Allowance Race at Belmont, post position 3 with Channing Hill up. SHE WAS A COSING 4th: SEE CHART. She was trapped on the rail. You can see that Channig Hill is steadying her as she has no where to go.

11/30/09 - FOR 2009 LIFETIME PP's PLEASE CLICK HERE

Here are her last 4 races in 2009 in capsule format. The race on the 29th is a throw-away as she was left flat footed after a long wait in the gate and just got too far off the pace in a race which was not at a good distance for her in the best of circumstances. She still picked up a tiny check for us and is just pushing $100,000 in earnings.

9/11/09 - SHE WON! (SEE CHART)

Vicarious winning at Belmont

Vicarious ran at Saratoga on 8/17 and again on 8/23, both times with Julien Leparoux in the irons. She had a third on the 17th in allowance company (SEE CHART ) and ran second 6 days later going a mile and an eigth on a muddy track in an open $35,000 claiing race. (SEE CHART ) Please visit the new SARATOGA 2009 PHOTO ALBUM

5/31/09 - Vicarious started for the second time since her winter break and ran 4th in allowance company. She broke last and ran at the back of the pack. When coming on in the stretch, she checked slightly when a filly broke down to the inside of her although it is doubtful She would have made the top tier. She earned $2,150 and pushed her earnings over $40,000.

(SEE CHART | SEE PHOTOS)

10/29/08 - Although she went off the second favorite, this was not her day. She broke well, was second through a half in 45 and change and then dropped far back. She did come on again slightly in deep stretch to pass a couple and was only a nose off the 4th horse. She needs to stick that nose out a bit. I did not feel she got the best ride this time, but Migliore reported that she was sliding around. He also said she was looking around and needed blinkers. Let's see what Allen thinks about that. He had warned Fernando she would do that like any horse who is in a strange place for the first time.

10/12/08 - Going short, out of her comfort zone, and again in the 1 hole, Vicarious still brought us home a check. She came in third in a photo finish. In fact she has earned us a check in all but 2 of her starts. Allen is still muttering about trying to find a long race for her.
(see chart) .

Just past the wire and she is still trying

9/28/08 - Vicarious was a very strong and brave second in a race where she was stepping up in class, was going shorter than she might really want at 6 1/2 furlongs, had a less than optimum post the one hole) and had a messy the track. She did have jockey Ramon Dominguez for the first time and he is excellent. She broke well, kept a good position on the rail and stayed 2nd or 3rd until deep stretch when she suddenly had room to clear the faltering field to the outside and reach the crown of the race track. There she dug in again and was gaining at every stride. Please visit the MEDIA page and to see a slide show showing her renewed run in deep stretch. We were fortunate to have Barry Bornstein there to record the event for us in a wonderful series of photos. He reported that she passed the winner within a stride or two after the wire.

According to Barry, Allen was grumbling before the race that he could not get her in the race he wanted. After the race when I called to thank him, he was very very pleased and repeated several times"She did great". He also said she would have won had she had an outside purse or if the race had been 7/8th. I believe he gained a great deal of respect for her from this effort. I know I did.
(see chart -- see photos)

Allen is trying the MTO niche again - this time in a NY Bred allowance race on the 17th - the first race. NOT. It stayed on the turf.

9/7/08 - She was an excellent second in a race at a mile and a sixteenth which came off the turf. She broke well and stayed close to the pace through 6 furlongs in 1:11 and change coming 3 wide around the turn. She was gaining at the end.
(see chart).

Monica, Marcelo, Barry B. and Melissa were at Belmont to dance attendance and Beau, Valerie, Larry and Marilyn watched at the Racino. Bunty and John watched at an OTB. We were all proud including Allen.

Tiny Jorge Chavez looked quite silly trying to clamber on. He did a good job, but Fernando felt she would have won with Cornelio on her.

8/2108 - Entered 2 races one of which did not fill ( $35,000claiming going long) and a NY Bred Non Winners of 1 other than at a mile on the grass and this overfilled and she did not get in. Allen is looking for a race.

8/6/08 - The long race did not fill so she was entered to run 7 furlongs in a $25,000 maiden claiming race and she won! On hand to cheer and carry on were Larry, Barry (not Beau), Valerie Bornstein, Winnie Gray, Marty Farnsworth, Monica Driver, Marilyn Lane, Kevin Henry and Suzy Haslup. We were joined by RIchard Kent ( from whom we had purchased Loose Wire over 20 years ago) and his daughter. Beau wondered why we did not have a photo of his head on a stick to hold up! Click here to see the chart.

7/31/08 - Unknown race number at Saratoga going 1 1/8th miles. - race did not fill

7/3/08 - 6th race, 9th post position going a mile on the turf. She will be ridden by apprentice Sebastian Morales.

6/15/08 - Entered for June 19th - 6th race MSW - 6 furlongs - 7th post position. Javier Castellano up. She raced poorly, but a reason was discovered and she should run better next time. She will start on LASIX next out.

5/25/08 - BELMONT: Vicarious started in a 5 1/2 furlong MSW for NY Bred Fillies 3 and Up. She was in post position 2 and had Cornelio Velasquez up.

She broke poorly having had a long wait in the gate and was immediately last saving ground on the inside and getting dirt in her face. At the turn she made a nice run and got up to 4th but could not catch the three in front of her.

The jockey reported that she needed more ground but that she had galloped out strongly. We are not sure if she changed her lead.

She cooled out fast and easily and was attacking her haynet and begging for carrots when we left.
